Step 4: Verify Your Email
- Gmail will send a verification email to your company address
- Since forwarding is already set up, the verification email will arrive in your Gmail inbox within a minute or two
- You can either:
- Click the verification link in the email, OR
- Enter the confirmation code from the email into the popup window
- Once verified, your company email will appear in the “Send mail as” list
Step 5: Set Company Email as Default
- Back in Settings → Accounts and Import → “Send mail as”
- Find your new company email in the list
- Click “make default” next to it
- Now all new emails you compose will automatically send from your company address
Step 6: Set Reply-To (Recommended)
- Still in the “Send mail as” section
- Click “edit info” next to your company email
- Check “Specify a different ‘reply-to’ address”
- Enter your company email address again
- Click “Save Changes”
This ensures replies go to your company address, not your Gmail address.
Quick Reference
- New emails automatically send from your company address (after Step 5)
- Replies come from the address the original email was sent to
- To change sender on any email, click your name in the “From” field while composing and select your company email
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Verification email didn’t arrive | Check Spam and Promotions tabs. Wait 2–3 minutes. If still nothing, click “Resend email” in the verification popup. |
| SMTP connection failed | Double-check the username and password were copied exactly with no extra spaces. Make sure port is 587 and security is TLS. |
| “Send through SMTP” option not showing | Use a desktop browser (not the Gmail mobile app). |
| Emails not going through | Contact Frank — the Postmark credentials may need updating. |
